According to the GM Authority, the reason for termination of four-cylinder units is General Motors ‘ will simplify the Traverse lineup, both for customers and on production lines. Also, both machines were very close in terms of output and efficiency that made the smaller ones not really needed.

GM’s decision took place for the mid-2019 model year and it was interesting to see if the car had plans to launch a replacement for a 2.0-liter engine in the near term. It has announced a new four-Banger LSY code name will be available to fresh GMC Acadia and it is also expected to find its place under the hood of the facelifted Cadillac XT5. Given that, it makes sense to see the Turbo unit make its appearance in Traverse for the 2021 model year.

Recent updates for Traverse arrived last year with the launch of such Trim RS that adds sporty exterior and interior tweaks. This includes a black window trim and a roof rail, 20-inch wheels, and RS badge.
