New 2022 Chevy Bolt SUV EUV Review, Release Date – Chevrolet Bolt EV is enough to make our 2017 best car of the year, but that does not guarantee the domination of the sale, especially when the Tesla release at the same price car. The EV Bolt will get a refresh this year in the first strike of GM EV attack, and it will get a backup in the form of 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Electric crossover.

Although we do not expect the term “EUV ” (Abbreviation for “Electric Utility Vehicle “) to catch, the longer Bolt EUV should attract customers looking for an electric SUV rather than a high hatchback. Sleek, more sexy styling will not only take it in line with the latest Chevrolet design language but also another address of the EV Bolt weak point.

The name “EUV ” or known as “Electric Utility Vehicle ” seems like a relatively new term that Chevy messing with, which is creative in some ways but it may take a while to get noticeable traction.

Because EUV is longer than an EV companion, it may attract some buyers looking for EV that has a regular SUV style than any of the high hatchback. Styling that is definitely somewhat in agreement with the signature style of the design company will also have a shiny and sexy look, and also potentially fix the current Bolt deficiency.

According to the Bolt BEV2 architecture, the EUV Bolt is stretched 3 inches between the wheels for wider interior space and 5 to 6 inches in total. The Bolt is already high, and we don’t expect the EUV Bolt to get higher, but the more upright styling will make it look more like an SUV with a low ground clearance than the size of the EMOJI car.

The long-wheelbase would make space for a battery that was larger than the standard Bolt 66-kW-HR Pak, which would logically increase the range beyond a smaller car of 259 miles. However, this will still be the front-wheel-drive alone, as there is no plan to add the motor to the rear axle.

Since the EV Bolt and the EUV Bolt will remain on the BEV2 platform, they will continue with the same battery and charging technology as the new Ultium GM battery. This means they will still be able to fast-charging DC but will not be able to fill as fast as the Ultium batteries are more advanced and will not have the same capacity and range.

On the other hand, using existing technology will allow the EUV Bolt to get the market next year while vehicles based BEV3 and Ultium their batteries will not be ready for another year.

The Bolt EUV will also cover a variety of updates that are also being implemented in Bolt standards such as re-made interiors said to be more upscale than Plastic-like. The company has been present for a variety of concerns regarding the current Bolt, involving increased seats, a more advanced infotainment system, and a gear selector push button.

The Bolt EUV, though, will benefit from several optional upgrades not available on the updated Bolt, including sunroof and Super Cruise, a highly sophisticated cruise control system that lets you take your hand wheel on the freeway; So far, Super Cruise is only available in Cadillacs.

2022 Chevy Bolt SUV Price

Additionally, the EV Bolt 2020 has a starting price of about $37,000, (plus a destination fee) and around $42,000, (plus a destination fee) with the upgraded Premier trim. It is likely that version 2022 will come with a price starting from the more enhanced Bolt variant.

Since EVs are generally sensitive to price and with the new model Tesla Y beating the EUV Bolt to market, we hope to just be a bit more expensive than the standard Bolt. 2020 the EV Bolt started just hair over $37,000 before a local, state, and federal incentive, with enhanced Trim Premier levels starting only under $42,000.

We bet the larger crossover of the EUV Bolt will come around the initial price of the Bolt up a level when it starts to sell in mid-2021.
