New 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 USA Price – In sports, teams can have a large off-season spend increasing the roster, generating a lot of positive news, but the team could still end up losing if all the other teams got better. And as such is our metaphor for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, a truck that is much better than it was replaced last year, but one that falls short when compared to RAM and Ford competitors.

Now, its powerful capabilities, diverse powertrain lineup, and generous Infotainment offerings still make Silverado worth a long Test drive. This is not a bad choice. However, it’s just not far enough in several areas – especially the tedious and inexpensive interior – to generally beat other teams ‘ talents.

Silverado was completely redesigned last year, and despite some change to 2020, we saw a dramatic increase in engine availability. Especially, the 6.2-liter V8 trickle down the lineup and is now offered on the Custom Trail Boss, LT’s Trail Boss and the RST Trim levels.

On the other end of the number of cylinders, the 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder can now have at the custom Trim level as an option (it’s standard on the LT and RST). The 5.3-liter V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management can now be paired with an automatic 10-Speed previously reserved for 6.2. It’s standard on Boss Trail LT and optionally in High Country. All other versions of 5.3 liters with DFM Stick with eight-Speed Auto. Finally, the Duramax diesel engine arrives on the scene, boasting impressive torque and repairs.

The technology has also been upgraded, as the new Silverado HD trailering application and 15-view camera system is dripping to 1500. The adaptive cruise control system available is also enhanced with a new camera-based sensor.

The Silverado’s Cabin is the most attractive and competitive attribute, falling far behind the 1500 RAM and the Ford F-150 in terms of quality and appealing visual design. Even the High Country range-toppings had no fancy touches and the atmosphere we had hoped for in such high-dollar trucks.

Although it is a minor upgrade to the previous Silverado, the segment has risen dramatically to the point that even those who are looking at more models are equipped now can expect more of what the interior provides Silverado.

That said, at least offerings of generous technology. Each trim level comes standard with 7-Inch Touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and six-speaker sound systems (two speakers with regular taxis).

2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Features

Starting with the popular Trim LT, you get two additional USB ports, 8-Inch Touchscreen, OnStar and in-Truck 4G LTE WiFi. The top Trim level can add additional USB ports, a wide range of trailer applications and props, multiple camera systems for parking and trailer, smartphone wireless charging and audio upgrades.

The Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is the biggest yet, with a Limo-like sprawl-Out space in the back seat assisted by a colossal back door. As expected, Double seatback rear cab is more upright and less comfortable.

Legroom may lead the class, but still strictly behind the high driver, which means the Double Cab rear seat is ultimately best suited for occasional use. At least the rear door hinges in front of it is a better setting than the annoying clamshell F-150 Super Cab.

As always, you can get three people 40/20/40 Split front bench or bucket seat with full center console. For a three-person front bench, the Silverado provides decent storage space, including bins under the chair, the other under the armrests, a pair of cabinets quite large and a decent place to store your phone.

The console seat Central bucket Setup has no intelligent solution to storage RAM 1500, and as each Silverado uses a space-saving (but not very sexy) column-Stalk shifter.

What about a bed? The thinner, higher wall introduced last year has resulted in a bed that eventually holds more than anything in the segment. There is more to consider than just the length of the bed. The maximum load ranges from £2,130 to 4×4 Cab crew up to 2,280 for 4×2 regular cab.

It is generally a few hundred pounds more than the F-150 or the 1500 RAM, which can theoretically make a difference, but you will stay better with heavy-duty trucks if you are going to routinely max out the cargo in such a way.

2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Specs

The 2020 Silverado is available with an unmatched diversity of engine options, along with multiple transmissions and even a cylinder disabling system. To make it easier to see the combos that powertrain is available with the Trim, we have provided the chart below in addition to describing the performance and fuel economy of each machine.

It begins with a 4.6-liter V6 that produces 285 horsepower and 305 pound-foot torque. It comes standard with six automatic speeds and Active Fuel Management (AFM) which close down half the cylinder to conserve fuel. All trims get 17 MPG in combined driving with this machine, except the Boss Trail which gets 16 MPG.

The unique 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 310 HP and 348 lb-ft torque. It has an automatic eight-speed and also gets AFM (yes, it can run on two cylinders). It achieves between 19 and 21 MPG combined, which may seem like a small profit, but in terms of actual gas money spent, it’s a big problem. It is also the best fuel economy of any non-diesel full-size truck.

The V8 base was a 5.3-liter unit that resulted in 355 HP and 383 lb-ft torque. With six-speed automatic and AFM’s back 17 MPG combined. However, certain Trim levels can outfit this machine with eight-speed automatic and more advanced Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) which increases fuel economy to 18 (4WD) or 19 (2WD) MPG combined. For 2020, you can also pair it in a certain trim at 10-auto speeds. This should improve the fuel economy further, but official figures have not been released at the time of this writing.

The upgraded V8 rolled 6.2 liters and resulted in 420 HP and 460 lb-ft torque. Just got 10-speed and DFM, and it returns 17 MPG combined.

Also new to 2020 is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six engine that generates 277 HP and 460 lb-ft torque. It also gets 10-Speed automatic. With the rear-wheel drive, it gets 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. They went do for 23/29 with a four-wheel-drive, but both were much better than the Ford F-150 diesel. The combined fuel economy has not been released at the time of this writing.

As you can know from large numbers of drivetrains and trims levels, there are many answers to this question. But we have driven several different versions. We spent some time on the 5.3-liter Boss Trail and found the machine paired well with an eight-speed automatic. We also pulled heavy loads with different Silverado backed by a large 6.2-liter and found that it felt more powerful than a 5.3-liter truck, but that you didn’t strictly need it. 5.3 More than capable.

We found a four-cylinder turbocharged to be as fast and efficient as advertised, easily alleviates the concerns that you cannot put four cylinders in full-size trucks.

However, we think that it represents the relative questionable value of Ford’s small Turbo V6 and the lightweight-hybrid RAM V8. We found the new Duramax diesel engine to be strong, very quiet and would be the best option if you want to save fuel. Keep in mind, though, that the savings in the pump will depend on where you live: if the diesel price is close to the equivalent of 87 octanes, you’re in luck.

Apart from the machine, we have been impressed with the Silverado road holding and steering the wheel. It feels more agile than its rival trucks, as well as its predecessor. The quality of travel is a sick place, however. The LT Double Cab we tested violently over the bump, while the other trims with larger wheels resulted in a tiring impact.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available in regular cab, (Extended) Double Cab and Crew Cab style as well as three long beds and two front seat options. There are then eight Trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country. You can see the available machines at what level of Trim in the table above.

The price for 2020 is not available at the time of this writing, but we hope to be very close (if not identical) with 2019 which starts at $29,895 for the regular taxi Work Truck, including the goal cost of $1,595. Even the Trim includes automatic lights, Power Windows and Locks (Double and Crew taxis), a rearview camera, 7-Inch Touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

However, it also has seating and vinyl flooring, so consumers are most likely to start with more civilian customs ($36,195 in 2019) which add an upgraded base such as Alloy wheels, upholstery fabrics, carpets, and Cruise Control.
