The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is expected to hit the U.S. market in the fall of 2024, marking the final model year for the current-generation light-duty pickup truck.

While the electrified Silverado is anticipated to join the lineup, the 2025 model will usher in the next generation of full-size pickup trucks with internal combustion engines (ICE.). Notably, this next-generation ICE truck is set to receive a new powertrain.

Production of the 2025 Silverado 1500 is scheduled to begin at the end of the third quarter or possibly the fourth quarter of 2024.

As of 2019, the Silverado 1500 model has been assembled at the Silao plant in Mexico and the Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, U.S.A.

Additionally, the Oshawa plant in Canada currently builds only Chevrolet Silverados, with production starting for the Silverado HD in November 2021 and Silverado 1500 in spring 2022.

In terms of reliability, Chevrolet has a reputation for consistency across all its models and for producing durable and reliable vehicles. Compared to Ford, Chevy generally comes out on top regarding reliability ratings.

In the ongoing battle between the Ford F-150 and the Chevy Silverado, the Silverado holds the lead in cargo bed capacity. Its short bed boasts a capacity of 62.9 cubic feet, compared to the F-150’s 52.8 cubic feet.

For those who want to drive long-bed crew cabs, Chevrolet provides 71.7 cubic feet, while Ford offers 62.3 cubic feet. Both trucks also feature power-operated tailgates.

As the electric vehicle market expands, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV is set to compete with the upcoming Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevy Silverado E.V.

With impressive target specifications such as a 500-mile range and class-leading horsepower, payload, and trailer capacity. The Ram 1500 REV is poised to impact the electric truck segment significantly.

According to a report by G.M. Authorities, President Mark Reuss confirmed 2025 debuts for both full-size truck models in a recent meeting with investors.

The next-generation Silverado and Sierra will be equipped with new powertrains. They are also expected to reduce emissions by 10 percent — in line with the automaker’s push to achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2040.

Besides, not much is known about G.M.’s plans for a next-generation full-size pickup. It also needs to be determined how the upcoming Silverado E.V. will fit into the next-generation Silverado lineup.

The next Silverado 1500 will show off a new grille, front fascia, and additional exterior paint options. Inside, the higher trim received a completely redesigned cabin with new seats, a reshaped dashboard and center console with a 13.4-inch touchscreen, and more color schemes available.

The Chevy Safety Assist package comes standard on all Silverado trims. The top-of-the-line High County trim gets G.M. Super Cruise’s advanced hands-free driving technology.

The all-new Silverado ZR2 trim is also expected to deliver enhanced off-road capabilities and features such as exclusive suspension, single-pedal Terrain Mode, skid plates, and off-road tires.

Across the rest of the lineup, the 2.7-liter turbo engine offers more torque, while the Duramax turbodiesel can produce more weight.

While specific details about the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 are still to come, it’s clear that this next-generation pickup truck will bring many new features and capabilities.

As automakers continue to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible in the pickup truck market, the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 is poised to be a formidable contender.
