2022 Chevy Silverado Square Body – The Chevy Square Body is the third generation GM truck in their C/K series. As you can guess by looking at it, the square body gets this nickname from its box-like shape.
Interestingly enough, when the truck first debuted, GM called it the “round line” generation because of its round windshield, windows, and door frames.

After surviving for eighteen years in the American car market, it’s clear that chevy wears it with a square body. These trucks were the first designed by GM using computer simulations and wind tunnels.
Under the hood, buyers have a wide range of robust and reliable engine options to choose from. On the inside, Chevy technicians make the cabin more comfortable with additional legroom, four-door crew cabin options, and climate control.
It’s no secret that trucks have become very popular in the American car market in recent years. In April 2020, truck sales surpassed passenger car sales for the first time. Besides, four of the ten best-selling cars in America are full-size pickup trucks.
The main reason why trucks sell better today than they used to is because of buyers’ lifestyles or people who don’t need trucks to work but love the idea of driving pickups. With truck purchases at the highest point of all time, now is the perfect time to return the square body.
Although truck sales have been very high in recent years, these statistics do not mean that truck buyers preferred modern American trucks to trucks of the 1970s and 80s.
Today’s trucks meet the needs of working people and lifestyle buyers by offering better cab capabilities and comfort than ever before. However, despite its advantages, many people miss the sturdy look of old trucks.
However, some will say that today’s trucks are very ugly. And who can blame them? Modern full-size trucks have left clean lines and slim proportions for a more comprehensive, more rounded look. The square body will soon separate GM from the others massively.
Before “Old Body” trucks in the late 1980s, GM made cheap trucks with good powertrains and not much else. While the c/k square body interior is good for its time, there is no equal focus on cabin comfort as it is today. This means the price is much lower than modern American trucks.
For example, a 1975 C10 costs $3,600 on the day. Because it’s adjusted for inflation, the truck’s price was about $17,500 today. Compare that to the current half-ton Silverado that can range from $28,000 to $61,000, and it’s easy to see how much truck prices have changed over the years.
In the past, Chevy trucks were an affordable option for workers who needed reliable and straightforward trucks, and today there is wide open space on the market for full-size no-frills trucks such as old square bodies.
Chevy Silverado “Square Body” Looks Like a C10 Sports Truck
Who can forget the days of square body retrieval, disgusting fuel mileage, and the car safety equivalent of riding a bear down a mountain? Back when the original Chevy C10 square body was launched, the world was a more straightforward place, free from the big problems plaguing Earth today, such as the imminent imp collapse of significant ecosystems or global pandemics.
Thanks to one of the designers, we can now see what the current Chevrolet Silverado looks like with an extraordinary square body. Silverado lost the sales race against its main competitor Ram 1500. Perhaps a redesign like this could pull back some sales for Chevrolet. Anyway, this thing looks cool.
The designer chose the Chevy Silverado Cheyenne concept as a starting point. This concept was revealed at the SEMA 2013 event and provided a reasonable basis for further modifications. Because the car was broken, little was needed to bring it up to par with the classic C10.
The front is tightened, the headlights are made square, and a carbon-like front splitter adds a street feel. On the back, the designer changes the rear light settings for a more contemporary look, and the drill flares are obliged to add to the car’s overall angular look.
This modern square body reminds us how good a clean and straightforward design looks and brings back fond memories of Silverado in 2014 and 2015. Silverado, at the moment, is not a bad-looking pickup, but some people find the style a bit too busy.
Considering many fans, especially in the United States, we hope Silverado Square Body will be redesigned soon and ready to be marketed in 2022.
2022 Chevy Silverado Spy Shots
A GM Authority report earlier this year, GM planned a significant refresh of its light-duty full-size pickups – the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra – for the 2022 model year.
The changes will involve refreshed exteriors and interiors, along with new rear doors and several other updates. After the 2022 GMC Sierra spy photo, here’s the first photo of the 2022 Chevy Silverado.
This updated prototype truck uses large amounts of camouflage covering the front fascia, hood, front fenders, cribs, and the entire rear section, including the rear fenders, rear doors, and taillights.
Upfront, it seems that the Chevy Silverado 2022 will get a new fascia that adopts the bow-tie brand’s latest iteration of the two-tier lighting settings, as seen on models such as the Silverado HD 2020 and later as well as 2019 and newer.
It isn’t easy to see exactly which direction the new pickup is going to be. Still, the new design will feature thin LED accents and a daytime running light or DRL for short at the top of the fascia, followed by the main section mounted under the light element.
The cab remains untouched, as evidenced by the lack of camouflage on this Extended Cab model. Moving backward, it appears that the 2022 Chevy Silverado will include an integrated BedStep adopted from GM’s 2020 heavy-duty model truck.
Meanwhile, the tailgate is completely camouflaged. As we reported last week, General Motors will offer the rear door of the GMC MultiPro on the Silverado under the name MultiFlex (or Multi-Flex). Besides, the back door will carry the same QK2 RPO Code as the MultiPro as on the GMC Sierra.
On numerous occasions, we have seen Silverado HD models with cut lines in the rear body identical to those in the tubs of MultiPro trucks. GM Authority sources also stated that The Multi-Flex could display improvements on the MultiPro, either in functionality or by introducing the seventh position.
It should be noted that camouflage around the box may hide Sierra’s carbon composite beds as GMC CarbonPro, although it is currently unclear. Meanwhile, a new set of taillights will also be part of the mid-cycle update.
The fully camouflaged interior is where the biggest change is, as some criticize the fourth-generation Silverado 1500 – all-new for the 2019 model – for having such a disappointing cockpit.
However, as reported by the GM Authority earlier this year, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2022 will feature a revised middle stack similar to those in the all-new Chevy Tahoe 2021 and Suburban 2021.
These changes clearly show that GM is not messing with the renewal of any of its major products. In fact, Silverado is the best-selling GM vehicle in the United States and accounts for a significant amount of its revenue.
And while the all-new Silverado is doing well in the market, it’s clear that Chevy wants to eliminate potential criticism of the vehicle with this update.
